- You can see God if you have these three attachments combined: the attachment of a worldly man to things of the world, the attachment of a mother to her child, and the attachment of a chaste wife to her husband. If these three attachments are united, their combined power makes it possible to see God.
- Does a magnet invite iron by saying, ‘Come near?’ It doesn’t have to say that; the iron rushes to the magnet because of the magnet’s attraction.
- Sometimes God is the magnet and the devotee a needle. By His power of attraction, He pulls the devotee. But sometimes the devotee becomes the magnet and God the needle. The devotee’s attraction is so strong that, enchanted by his ecstatic love, God Himself comes to him.
- God can be attained when one combines the force of these three attractions: the worldly man’s attraction for his possessions, the chaste wife’s attraction for her husband, and the attraction of a mother for her child. One immediately attains the vision of God when one loves Him with the combined force of these three attractions.
- Not everybody is attracted to God. There has to be a special receptivity. You have to have the right samskaras to feel such attraction. If that were not so, why should you be the only one to come here out of so many.
- I (Sri Ramakrishna) am telling you in this state of mind – you must believe me. You see, there is no pretense here. I said to the Divine Mother in this state, ‘Mother, make perfect those who come here by sincere attraction.’
- It is the attraction of God. The Divine Mother casts a spell that attracts people.
- It will really be nice if a current flows from here. Everyone will be liberated by the force of that current. What comes from here will never be one-sided.
- I am the machine but He is the operator. It is God’s power alone in this [within himself]. That’s why so many people are increasingly attracted here. Just a touch is enough to awaken them. This attraction, this pull, is the attraction of God alone.
- God can be attained if one has these three attractions combined: a mother’s love for her child, the love a chaste woman for her husband, and the love of a worldly person for his possessions.
- The basic thing is to love God. When you’ve developed intense love, you will see God. When these three things are combined into one – the attraction of a chaste wife for her husband, the love of a mother for her child, and the attachment of a worldly person for things of the world – you will have the vision of God.
