It is well known that the Mother encountered a robber at Telo-Bhelo and that she addressed him as father. One day Ashu asked the Mother: “What did the robber see in you?”
“He told me that he saw Kali in me,” Holy Mother replied.
Ashu responded: “Then you revealed yourself to him as Kali? Don’t hide it, Mother. Please tell me.”
“Why should I show him? He told me what he saw.”
Well, Mother, you showed him [that you were Kali]. The robber did not see any other woman. He saw only you. Whether you admit it or not, it is self-evident that you showed him.”
“Well, you may say whatever you like,” Holy Mother said, and smiled.
“Mother, I don’t want to see your Kali form,” said Ashu. “I am happy to see you in this form. You are my mother and I am your son.”
“Very well, my son. I am relieved. I will not have to stand and stick out my tongue.”
