अणवश्च ॥ ५ ॥
aṇavaśca || 7 ||
aṇavaḥ—Minute; ca—and.
7. And (they are) minute.
The organs are minute. ‘Minute’ does not mean atomic, but fine and limited in size. It is because they are subtle that they are not seen. If they were all-pervading, then texts which speak of their passing out of the body and going and coming along with the soul at death and birth would be contradicted. Moreover, we do not perceive through the senses what is happening throughout the universe, which would be the case if they were ill-pervading. Hence they are all subtle and limited in size.
