- Shyama is dark because she’s at a distance. Go near and you’ll find that She has no colour. The water in a pond looks dark from a distance. Go near it, take some in your hand, and you see that it has no colour.
- The One who is Shyama is also Brahman. The One who has form is also formless. The Being who has attributes is also without attributes. Brahman is Shakti, and Shakti is Brahman.
- Cherish the beloved Mother Shyama in your heart. O mind, may you and I alone behold Her, and let no one else intrude.
